R and L sounds are basically the same in Japanese, so both Ryu and Lyu are valid translations. |

Typically the English translations of the novels use "Lyu" and the subtitles for the anime use "Ryu," just to keep things extra confusing. I default to whichever I'm reviewing, but despite starting with the books, I always think of her as "Ryu."

The Western fandoms mostly uses Ryu which I suppose is why the subs do as well. |

Honestly the moment we saw that flashback of her reconciling with Astrea, I'd been wanting to see exactly how their reunion played out, and I'm always eager for more Ryu content.

I do agree Cecille was kinda annoying and Omori really should learn not to overdo his fight scenes. It wasn't this bad earlier in the series but I also do appreciate him filling the gaps with Ryu for us. Next FC will feature Haruhime. Apparently he wanted to go with Haruhime after the Freya FC but Ryu's popularity exploded after season 4 aired that went with this instead.

Been saying it for years that these side and short stories were what the movie and OVAs should have adapted instead of non canon and fanservice focused episodes. In fact we haven't had a new OVA since season 3 |

that always a head scratcher. the HIDIVE subs i have seen on anime network om demand had always had her as "Miss Ryu" though its the english manga that have her as Lyu! even during this goddess festival arc and war game arc they still have her as miss ryu. do not know why HIDIVE/Sentai Filmworks does this, but in the eventual event this book ever get an anime adaptation, they cant keep doing stuff like this before viewers get annoyed by this! |
