I picked up the first volume on release and enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the second volume in June and I've decided not to read the manga on the app, so I can experience it like in the old days.

This manga is fun and hilarious. The reviewer didn't mention it, but fans of Golden Kamuy will notice quite a few Easter eggs sprinkled throughout at least the first 25 or so chapters (I haven't read beyond that yet - I too am waiting for the physical English releases to catch up to what I've read so I can continue experiencing this story in print). I'm so happy that Noda has become successful and respected enough that he's been able to revive a failed series from his past.

I mean technically, it is more that Golden Kamuy was full of Supinamarada! Easter eggs, and now Dogsred is closing the loop.

I've been on the fence because when I started reading Shonen Jump's new series when they started translating them day 1, only 1 out of 9 made it past a year (hardboil dolphin came close however) with that one being Sakamoto Days. I was so burned thinking my tastes were bad I stopped reading the newest stuff and just hopping on the fan bandwagon when they got really popular (Spy x Family). Guess it's finally time to jump on this one's bandwagon. Go Canes!

Also weirdly not mentioning the fact that it's got basically the same cast as Golden Kamuy, which makes it absolutely hilarious. Seeing the GK characters you loved (or hated) doing totally different (and generally silly) things in another time and age is priceless. Big kudos to Noda Sensei.
