Definite agree on the problem with characters being underused this season, as one of the strengths of the show's previous season was how it handled its ensemble cast.
As someone familiar with the LN and manga, there's a few episodes that I feel could have used in place of what we got this season to allow a better balance of Azusa's family, with one example being replacing the "kitsune Azusa" episode with the LN story where spoiler[the water spirit cuts her hair short, as half of her family, especially the two most-underused characters of the season (Laika and Rosalie), have a prominent part in that story.] |

Yeah, fine is a good fit. I thought the first season was stronger, but as a show you can just relax too, it serves it's purpose.

I had exactly the same reaction to the second season as Kevin did, and would grade it the exact same way.

Sometimes you continue watching a show just 'cause--I mean, it's like 20 minutes a week--and then out of the blue it majorly pays off. Don't ask me why, but watching Foxgirl Azusa suddenly going mad for the taste of some dish (I can't remember which one, but let's say karaage), manically zooming around the Demon Castle and beating up all the powerful generals that get in her way as she continuously screams out for her foodstuff, made me laugh as much as anything this season. Maybe it was just that she's usually such a level headed character that watching her go berzerk was hilarious. In any case, that five minutes made watching the entire season worthwhile for me.
