^ dang I knew they didn't have many exclusives but not that low. Switch 2 will have 3 exclusives (not including upgrades) by the end of this month (Mario Kart, Donkey Kong and Drag and Drive).

I mean how many iconic exclusives does the PC have outside of stuff like World Of Warcraft or some other stuff most people have never played? Not that Exclusives aren’t important. They don’t seem to have that much importance outside of helping to move systems when they first launch. |

I've had my PS5 since launch, and I've barely used it aside from playing a few titles. I regret not using the money to invest in a new PC setup instead.

Wild to think it's sold that many. I guess I'm still stuck in the pandemic-era mentality of it not being all that available. What is time, anyway?
Yeah, I got a PS4 Pro around when the PS5 launched, and that's about where I'm at too. About the only things I could think of wanting it for are the Spider-Man sequels and the Horizon: Forbidden West expansion, and now that Sony's releasing most of their first-party franchises on Steam I'd be much better off saving that money for the new PC build I desperately need. |

I regret getting a PS5. Where the PS4 has a decent amount of games, PS5 has next to none.

I mean, even just saying the PS5 has 18 exclusives is very generous and borderline misleading. That number’s including tech demos, remakes, and unreleased titles that’ll almost certainly see PC ports eventually. The “real” number, effectively, would be closer to just 3 or 4. If the PS5 generation has any one lesson to teach us, it would seem to be that a strong library of exclusives doesn’t actually matter when it comes to moving console hardware.
If you’re going to dismiss PC games as titles “most people have never played,” then sure, there aren’t all that many PC exclusives, because the most popular games always get ported to consoles. You can play Planescape Torment on a Nintendo Switch, after all. But, honestly, there’s no real comparison here. There are far more games exclusive to the PC than there are available on any other platform in total. Many of which could be characterized as all-time classics of the medium, like Command & Conquer, Thief, Quest for Glory, Myst, Rise of Nations, Alpha Centauri, Monkey Island, Black & White, Spore, Warcraft and StarCraft, Age of Wonders, Freespace, Homeworld, Mechwarrior, etc., etc. There’s really no comparison you can realistically make where the PC doesn’t have overwhelming more titles than any other platform. Especially considering PC games have never had to worry about new hardware generations rending entire libraries inaccessible. Like imagine if the PS5 could play literally every PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 game. It would still have a smaller library than PC —.but it’d be a little bit closer. |

The age of exclusives is largely over. Games are too expensive to commit to one platform anymore. It just comes down to what you want to play on. I’ve always been a console guy, so I do my gaming on PS5 and Switch. I don’t like gaming on PC.
