So wait, they had a guy going around claiming he was a positioned officer in their company for how long and didn't say anything about it? and Why? That just invites all the more scrutiny onto them as much as it does Kiba Walker.

Okay, the fact they didn't step in earlier to say Walker was lying about his position is bad, but also that he was lying about it in the first place is just opening up more issues. In any case, if someone is an inveterate liar about something it usually portends nothing good

Ascendent was still really new back then, so I can understand wanting to just quietly cut ties with the guy and move on without causing a big scene over what was going on... It was only just a couple of press releases sprinkled with lies, after all.
But oh man does it make things awkward having to inevitably address this now years later, after the same liar gets outed for even worse things...

I think if the press releases were incorrect, Ascendent Animation should have stepped in to clarify instead of letting the public run with the narrative that Kiba Walker was the company's president. But maybe they consulted a lawyer to see if it was really worth the trouble.

Wow, OK. I don't know what to say in light of the whole revelation. But my biggest worry of this story and the whole revelation is that, I don't want to see right-wingers and anti-LGBTQ conservatives becoming aware of this story and hijacking this to fuel their so-called LGBTQ grooming conspiracy theory narrative. I don't want to see Libs of TikTok using this story to say "See, we told you, we were right!!! There was real LGBTQ grooming and Kiba Walker proves it after all!!!" I better hope Fox News, or any of the right-wing news may try to pick up this story and spread this narrative and put all LGBTQ communities in greater danger. If this ever find it's way into right-wing news, then this could lead to LGBTQ facing greater persecution by this current administration.

The most hilarious part of this announcement is that Kiba Walker was president and CEO of Ascendant Animation (the incorrectly spelled fictional company). Perhaps in their mind that company actually existed? Lmao
Glad Ascendent Animation finally felt established and secure enough to address Walker’s lies and their ties to the company. I’m proud of the bravery they’ve finally shown. Hopefully executives won’t allow anyone else to make inaccurate statements about the company again.

Yeah, it seems like something that maybe should have been handled back then. The C&D might have gotten Walker to stop personally, but some sort of public post about it at the time so everyone else knows. It might have been a little weird at the time, but also stopped the rumors before now.
