The scalping mindset has completely ruined the collectibles scene, can't have shit for limited time without some man-child trying to steal all of it to try and turn a profit.
Just last month, Macdonald's Brazil ran a promotional collab with the F1 movie, selling miniature cars alongside some of the combos (you could also buy the minis as a standalone), unsurprisingly, ALL of the miniatures sold out within HOURS, and then started popping up on online sales platforms for up to 10x the original price.

Do kids even play the One Piece TCG? Scalpers suck but I wonder how many kids would have wanted these like Pokemon cards.

I often see kids and teens playing the One Piece TGS at the Bandai Gachapon Store in Sunshine City.

I think it's another part of the process of becoming old that it's becoming hard to accept that KIDS like the same things as you and, in fact, our hobbies are mainly enjoyed by younger people.
Of course kids like playing One Piece cards. In fact, I think that was why they placed the promotion with the kids' menu: they targeted it to the main public.
