More Charles Martinet is always good, but I wish they were dubbing the whole show.

Looking at the cast, it was pretty obvious it was Okratron, but then there is a wild Charles Martinet in the mix too.

Oh nice to see Charles Martinet getting involved in this one. I'm not against this particular compilation film getting an English dub given that the footage used are from the 1st Ultraman TV series (which is ironic because the 1st Ultraman TV series had the original English dub when broadcasted on US TV back in the 60's). So this might make it awkward toward people that watched the original TV series' original dub whether long time ago or online.
But then again, nowaday, people are used to watching their media even including when the audio dialogue is spoken in English with the CC/SDH subtitles turned on. As I mentioned on another thread, people are turning on CC/SDH more and more for thing even when the spoken audio are in English. They become so used to watching their media with the CC/SDH subtitles turned on that it become 2nd nature or a habit to turned on everything with subtitles on. That extend to foreign-language media (anime included). So I think people may watch this film with the subtitle turned on rather then watching it dubbed (majority of them, save for a few that will watch this film with the new English dub). Also, I find it interesting that this particular Ultraman compilation film is released in 4K because the original TV series was shot on 16mm film which is made for shooting TV series, or made for TV stuff so getting 4K resolution from a TV show that was shot on 16mm film. Ultra Q, the predecessor to Ultraman was shot on 35mm film hence why it looked good for it's time and that's why Ultra Q has received a 4K UHD BD release in Japan. Even on Ultraman Wiki entry on Ultraman 4K Discovery, I was told that it was shown in 2K and not 4K at a film festival. |

And people were saying Charles was retired just because he wasn't voicing Mario

Making it more obvious because he previously worked with Chris Sabat on the Dragon Ball Super Super Hero film so a connection was gained through that. |

The only thing wilder to me than dubbing Showa Ultraman is Charles Martinet in the cast.
Also...is Aaron Dismukes going to voice OG Ultraman in the Zero movies they're going to be dubbing? Since he uses Hayata's voice (and form) in those? |
