Cat’s Eye ran in Weekly Shonen Jump, so it definitely isn’t a Seinen.

Well, maybe by today’s standards.

Really happy to see Land in this season's Manga Guide. I was bowled over by how good that first omnibus volume is. It's a must-read for any serious manga fan, and I hope it at least gets an Eisner nomination next year.

That B-Rank Adventurer one sounds actually interesting so I'll check it out. I feel like one of the big problems in isekai (particularly the ones about video game worlds) is that all too often, the characters always go in knowing the game/world backwards and forwards, whether that means the bog standard "I'm gonna be awesome" or the more recent trend of "oh no I'm reincarnated a villain, gotta avoid my destined fate of dying". The premise of "I kinda know what's happening here but not really" sounds intriguing, like if I got sucked in WoW despite knowing nothing about it beyond "there are orcs and elves and a bad guy called the Lich King". Can't believe I'm actually excited for an isekai in TYOOL 2025.

I’m been reading the B-Rank Adventurer for a while. It’s genuinely really wholesome, but has enough violence and action to keep it from being too saccharine.

I think there's a mistake with the review for "Super Maid". The synopsis for that manga appears to be for a manga about a violent delinquent.

They mean that the reviewers thought the book was among the best in the Guide, so a score of 4 or higher.

If it has a trophy icon, it means every reviewer for that title gave it four stars or higher.

Erica Friedman wrote:
(…) that captures both the general feel of [City Hunter] and the tone in which it was written for, obviously, an adult male audience

I don't know if Erica Friedman meant the Kana edition, but City Hunter was written for male teenagers, as it was a Shônen Jump series.
That's why City Hunter is full of "sexy"/raunchy jokes, but not actual sex.

Reading both reviews for 'My New Devil Wife' I have to add a cautionary spoiler; spoiler[It doesn't stay just 'tiny smidge dirty' for too long, they eventually will consummate their marriage in later chapters.]

spoiler[I appreciate the input, but that doesn't have much of a bearing on my review. I can only review what was given to me, not more. Confused ]

That's exactly why I left it. You guys reviewed the the first volume, but there's 4 more to go, someone picking it up expecting it to stay as such might regret it later.

I give it props though, it's not often in a romcom where spoiler[it starts in the middle as most tend to leave it for absolute last one time thing, or just omit it altogether from the story..]

For the longest time, the reviews in Otaku USA were my primary resource for learning about new manga, so I’m glad ANN has been doing these periodic manga/LN review compendiums to offer another glimpse into what’s out there.

Can’t say any of the LNs look great this time around, but I did just snag Boyfriend, Sometimes Girlfriend based on the reviews here.
