I don't have much to say about the context of the story, but while there's no way to verify for sure, all the AI detectors I have flag this as "mostly/confidently AI". I'm inclined to agree based on the facial expressions, which match that of angry cartoon faces often generated by AI. AI can diversify its style if given a directive to, but slop is meant to be easy, so it should be unsurprising to see the same exaggerated features all over AI.

There are a couple of clues that suggest that there is AI in the webcomic.

First, a crown appears suddenly on the granfather's head on the third panel then disappears.

Second, if you follow ths link to the source that has a second comic, all the way down (the full version of the one shown on the top of the page). Look at the door, and at the woman's place in the car, and compare with the other panels where the car appears.

Yeah, pretty much AI.

On the other hand... maybe he couldn't find an artist willing to draw this comic, because of the topic? Or even the fear of a lawsuit?

I only could read the original article with translation tools, but it looks like they didn't bother to interview the author to ask the reason.

It seems all the other articles openly state this is AI " South Korean Dictator Grandson Creates An AI Webtoon", "The grandson of late strongman Chun Doo Hwan began an AI", "AI Webtoon authored by the dictator's grandson possibly offers"

Also, just throwing some 2 cents out there; it's slop.

People seem much more concerned about the possibility of a comic being made using AI then the suffering and brutal conditions of a dictator to one of his sons and the abuse said dictator has done to their people. Sounds about right for internet netizens and their priority...

I mean, that's exactly my problem, "great", you have a story to tell. Why not just write it using words. There are plenty of webnovel publishing platforms. I don't want to see chatgpt slop, and I'll be honest, I think he's a POS for publishing this trash.
