All this and zero word on anything regarding a US release. Do the people who own CINAR still exist and want their piece of the pie first?

I'm not sure Cinar ever actually had anything to do with the original show, but regardless, the inheritors of their library (WildBrain) obviously don't. Discotek re-released the show without their involvement.
The new series was on Crunchyroll's Winter simulcast list and then removed. I assume that went up before the contracts had been properly signed.

Between that and it originally being listed as subtitle-only despite the toyline’s moderate success and the Toonami cred this has been a very strange pre-release.
