Forgive me if I withhold my enthusiasm, the last time someone worked with the Scooby-Doo! IP we got the fetid mess that was Velma.

If it's anything like the Tom & Jerry one, it's probably gonna be cutesy, inoffensive shorts withe barely any substance (its episodes are less than 3 mins each). Not gonna be an abomination like Velma, but don't expect anything like the old cartoon either. Just the gang being cute and maybe some marketable plushies+merchs later.

Passable in that case, pretty low bar to clear post-Velma so it's something that won't be completely hated.

They haven't even released that upcoming Scooby-Doo spin-off with the anime visuals, yet they proposed another spin-off series.

This sounds like an actual anime rather than just a faux-anime though. But yeah, I wont get my hopes up. Tom & Jerry Gokko was very simple cutesy stuff so I doubt this i going to be like Occult Academy or Mieruko-chan or anything dealing with serious supernatural threats like some people may think when they hear Scooby Doo Anime.

Zoinks, this came out of nowhere, I guess the Tom & Jerry Gokko shorts turned out pretty successful if WB. is planning on replicating the formula with Scooby and the Mystery Gang, though I don't know if there's a huge overlap between anime fans and Scooby-Doo fans, with Tom & Jerry there's the fact that the franchise itself is pretty popular in Japan (and other parts of Asia), I've seen plenty of anime referencing Tom & Jerry, Hideaki Anno himself mentioned that they were among his favorite animations in an interview he gave in the early '90s, but I don't know if Scooby is well known in Japan, some Hanna-Barbera series like Wacky Racers and The Impossibles were actually very popular in Japan, but I don't know about Scooby. The closest connection between Scooby-Doo and anime is the fact that the first four direct-to-video Scooby-Doo movies were animated by Mook Animation in Japan, which resulted in some of the best animation in the franchise history, and even as a kid I noticed that those movies looked more like an anime at times.
Don't know how they are give Scooby a more kawaii look, unless they use his A Pup Named Scooby-Doo design or if they're planning on including Scrappy, like how Tom & Jerry Gokko included Nibbles.

From what I've heard, the Go Go Mystery Machine project is still in development, but some other Scooby-related projects have been cancelled due to WB. current problems, there was a Christmas special based on the Scoob! movie and a pre-school series in which Scooby had to take care of some puppies. Can't believe how many Scooby-Doo projects there are, I mean, Netflix is working on a live-action series right now.

ゾインクス!
I'm assuming that now instead of making giant sandwiches, Shaggy and Scooby will make comically large stacks of sushi rolls. Or perhaps just enormous takoyaki skewers that they shove down their mouths like sword-swallowers.

Should be a fun ride, been watching the tom and jerry gokko shorts since they were first releasing on cartoon network japan's youtube page (they're posted on the warner bros japan channel now). I'm not surprised it ended up so much of a success that they're now making a scooby doo gokko but I'm also surprised the series blew up outside of japan since I didn't see anyone talk about it until last year

This just makes me want to watch a Scooby Doo Where Are You! type series with Japanese voice actors.

Seems like a missed-opportunity to call it "Yowamushi Kuruppa Gokko"

Ah, seems they're trying to win back the fans they stomped on so thoroughly with that V-trocity.
