I thought for sure by volume 15 or so this series would have run out of steam, maybe get a chuckle here or there; but…I’m amazed how consistently hilarious it is and at times rotf hilarious. And let’s not forget the artwork! Always stellar! It took 37 volumes for Komi to get 100 friends. Will it take less, more or the same for Rentaro? Time will tell, but at this point I couldn’t care how many, it’s been so good.

Yeah, the connections the girlfriends have towards each other is really what gives this series depth while still being entertaining. There's several chapters focusing on the relationships between them specifically even without Rentaro figuring in at some point, and I'm amazed at how Nakamura can maintain that kind of versatile writing on a weekly basis while Nozawa has to keep making such high-quality art as well. Can't wait for season 3 in a couple of months!

I still think 100 Girlfriends would be way more interesting if Rentaro was bisexual. As it is, it just feels like another wish-fulfillment harem series to me. The girls being into each other doesn't change that, and in fact, just adds to the fantasy. "Girl on Girl is Hot", remember? The first time two girls kiss each other in the series, it's because Rentaro (the MC and audience surrogate) literally pushed their lips together. It's fanservice.
Is it fun? Yeah. Is it funny? Sure. But I can't help but roll my eyes at the fact that Rentaro, the self-insertable MC (he's a fun character, but still), is practically the only straight character in the harem. Like, c'mon You're telling me the audience wouldn't be able to handle a bisexual male MC? They can handle bisexual female characters just fine, if this manga's popularity is any indication.
Sorry, I don't hate 100 Girlfriends. It's fun! But when I hear people call this a polyamorous manga series, I go, "Okay, man... If you say so."

Whose the primary audience for this series?
Like I know guys can be into Yaoi especially those with Tomgirls but you can never be sure.
