MHA, Demon Slayer, and Lazarus(really?) taking Anime, Film, and Original Anime of the Year wins is outstandingly laughable. What a nothingburger awards show.

Fragrant Flower took best romance? Is this the first non-CR show win?

I at least get how MHA and Demon Slayer won. MHA was the end for a decade long massive shonen and Demon Slayer is massive. Lazarus is the big, "wait, what" winner. I've heard very middling things about the series and didn't even think it was popular, so to win is so strange.

Overall nothing egregious enough for me to much care, but… man you found the one original anime possibly less deserving of that win than Gundam huh?

Because if that shit show not happened once, now it have a sequel.

I'm glad Fragrant Flower won best romance because it is a cute show, and that Apothecary Diaries got some wins, but all the other wins? Meh. Poor Anne Shirley didn't stand a chance, and I voted for it in all the categories CR bothered to put it in! Not to mention Digimon Beatbreak and Zenshu deserve their accolades too!

Digimon Beatbreak should've won. At least that's an anime people actually like.

Unfortunately I can almost believe Lazarus winning Best Original. 4 of the other 6 received a very paltry amount of marketing. Lazarus might've only won because more people actually heard about it
Of course, this ignores the elephant in the room that is a mainline Gundam anime. How that one lost to Lazarus, I cannot fathom

Takopi's Original Sin not winning a single award was disappointing, but not surprising.

Hard to feel much of anything, all were great shows, most I hadn't watched, none of my favs won but they never do...At least there seemed to be a concerted effort to spread wins in categories around unlike past years so that no shows really "swept"...

I have only one thing to say about this and that's that the Anime of the Year is actually Princession Orchestra. And no one's changing my mind about that.

I say this every year, but it also stays true every year. The Crunchyroll Anime Awards are a f---ing joke. Setting aside that most of my personal winners of a lot of categories weren't even nominated, Lazarus? Really? That's on my list for worst series of last year. And Akaza being the best dub performance? Yeah, it was a good performance, but best of all dub performances of last year? C'mon.
On the whole, I understand that these "awards" are just a popularity contest, but it still annoys me because of how much Crunchyroll insists these have any form of legitimacy.
Also, City the Animation absolutely deserved to win Best Animation, despite not being nominated.
