I have watched the entire Zipang anime and found that the ending is just the conclusion to the first arc and to be continued. I'm happy to say I'm becoming a fan of Zipang's military and alternate world storyline, and I wish to know which manga volume I should read to continue from the ending of the anime. Though I'm hoping there will be a 2nd season to continue where the anime left off.

Like in all cases of anime adapted from the manga, there is always a chance that the anime will have run a different course from the manga. If you try and start reading from the point where the anime left off, you may come across some details in the manga that you might not understand and needs explaining from earlier volumes of the manga. While I don't know too much about Zipang, I did see one episode of the series, and I thought it was interesting. Unless there's 30 or more volumes to read of the series, I suggest reading from the beginning so you don't miss any important points or stories which explains stuff in the later volumes.

Try starting with volume 7. Technically the anime ends about half-way through it but I believe there are some scenes scattered through the first half of the volume that were cut out in order to end the show with less loose ends (you'll see what I mean). Generally speaking up until that volume the show followed the manga's storyline fairly closely.
So yeah, volume 7.

Thanks for the info. Volume 7? Looks like I have a lot to catch up on. According to the Zipang manga info here on ANN, Japan has released 27 volumes and still ongoing. Gonna be one hell of a read.
