Rejoice fellow EVA fans the latest film has been confirmed for release next year in the latest trailer. So tell me, is your mind and body prepared for Pirate Asuke.... in space? How hyped are you to watch, Evangion 3.0: I can [not] wait that long?

New Evangelion spin-off series announced: Asuka the Space Pirate. Yaaarr!
That was seriously my reaction when I first saw the trailer earlier today, not that its much of a trailer. But yeah, im definitely looking forward to this since I've enjoyed he last two rebuild movies alot Especially the second one since I was at the Australian premiere. Surrounded by people with a bewildered friend at ones side is definitely the best way to view anything Evangelion related.

Ha-ha yen I also managed to catch it madman's film festival, not5hing beets anime on the big screen, Alas I'm afraid to admit I actually enjoyed redline more than Eva 2.0 which was the main reason i went. But seriously who didn't expect Gianax to start appealing to the eye patch / pirate fetish crowd, At this point it seems they've already gone after every other group. Also this trailer needs more service, service, SERVICE, SERVICE!

Could also do with a bit more content as well lol. 19 seconds of a girl floating around in space dosent say much about the movie. Though, this being Evangelion and all, it would probably be impossible to guess what the movies going to contain even with a full trailer (and no, 'weird stuff' does not qualify as a guess).
Given Asuka's character and personality, I expect the eye is there to be a permanent reminder to both her and the audience that she got royally pwned in the last movie and thus will be driven to do crazy things because of it.

Yes, I also hope the find the time in the next movie to touch on Asuka's past, that was one of my favourite episodes of the original series. I was really disappointed when they skipped over it in the last film so I hope they have the time to touch on it this time around.

From thinking Asuka died and may be deformed if she survived, to seeing that all she needed was an eye patch in the end.  It's great to see they are finally working on the next movie. I can't wait for this to come out, and hopefully, we get a theater run in the States as well.

I cannot wait for this! The first movie was excellent and the second movie blew me away.
Me personally, I actually favor the movies better than the original series. I did enjoy the original series though.
However, as stated earlier, it is interesting to see that Asuka has an eye patch for some reason. I assume it was because of the accident, but that is incredibly interesting only an eyepatch was needed when she got crushed by a freakin Angel.
That also brings me to another though, what if part of her body isnt necessarily human? Like robotic prosthetic arms or legs, etc. I just don't see how it is possible for her to walk away from that unscathed more or less.

What's up with all the commenting on the eye patch, didn't anybody see the shot of Asuka with it on at the end of 2.0? Maybe it was a silly assumption for me to make, but after seeing it I assumed that this would be the case in 3.0.

I sure as hell saw it in the 2.22 preview--I own a copy of the damn movie. It was just the whole fetish deal that threw me for a loop.
Can't speak for everyone else, though.
