I would definitely assume so. Isn't the manga still running in Japan? As long as more manga comes out, more anime will be made (at least for a series as insanely popular as this one is). Having only read what's in Shonen Jump, though, I'm not as up-to-date on Naruto's storyline as some other's might be, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. More Naruto shall be made.

I don't mind more episodes, that is as long as they don't just start using filler episodes. If there are 200 episodes and 100 of them are filler, I'd rather them just stick with 62 or however many there are.

I guarantee you, Naruto will run for 200+ episodes. It's that kind of story. And please, stop saying 'sagas'.

well what would you wanna say instead of "sagas"? most animes that run for over 60eps are divide into sagas.

I think the proper term is "story arc".

I think the chunnin exam arc is pretty much over with episode 66-67. Episode 68 will most likely see the beginning of a new one.

The manga is knee-deep into the next arc and still goin' strong. Yes, in all likely-hood Naruto will surpass the 200 mark.

Calling a series of story arcs 'sagas' is awkward English. The whole 'saga' term being used to indicate a story arc was coined by FUNimation to describe DBZ and the otaku of the world quickly pluralized it, something FUNimation never did.

I just hate the way it sounds. 'Saga' is a very dramatic descriptor and, IMHO, implies a level of quality or dramatic range that does not adequately or properly describe most story arcs in shounen fighting anime.

Arc is a better term, and there are several more I can think of, spoilers for arc names spoiler[Episode 68 begins the Invasion arc, episode 90 or so should begin the Search/Raseagen arc, while 120 should begin the retrieval arc.]

Actually, it preceeded FUNimation. That's the earliest reference to a DBZ "saga" that I can find, but that dates to late 1993. The next solid reference on usenet seems to come from mid-1994. It, of course, explodes into popular usage in 1997-1998... "sagas" hails from around the same time -- 1996-1997, and then spreading into wider (but limited) usage in 1998.

Of course, I take issue with the folks who think "samurai" is singular and "samurais" are plural. :)

Sounds good to me. There could still be so much more to the story at the current state it's in. spoiler[Now that Orochimaru has had to take over a body for the time being and the new interesting character Kimimaro,] I feel there's a whole lot more to come. I agree that this could turn out to be a 200+ episode series.

So how many episodes of this show are there total? 68? Do they air it in Japan right now?

I don't think there's a "total" right now, seeing as it's currently running in Japan. I think the highest ep. fansubbed is ep. 67. I thought Naruto was slotted to run for 200+ eps.
