Wow, that is rather immature of a company to do that. Sure that would be popular with kids, but come on, how does that make a company look like?
They might as well gave out the real deal if they are willing to go that far.

Its a cultural thing.. how many US cartoons have characters who throw poop (numemon) or are themselves giant piles of poop (sukamon)?
