Hiromi Uehara, Stuts And More Set To Perform at Music Awards Japan Premier Ceremony

Tokyo, Japan — Performers for the Premier Ceremony of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN, the country's largest music awards ceremony, have been announced. Artists representing Japan and other Asian nations will take to the stage at SGC Hall Ariake from 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13.

Jazz whirlwind Hiromi Uehara and rock duo THE SPELLBOUND will represent the domestic music scene at the event, which kicks off a day celebrating music from Japan and beyond. Tokyo beatmaker STUTS will also perform, joined by rising pop act Hana Hope and rapper Kohijya. They'll be joined by two acts capturing the variety of music emerging out of Asia today. The Philippines Cup Of Joe, one of the country's biggest bands and the first Filipino act to ever enter the Billboard Global 200, will play along with Indonesian singer-songwriter Hindia, one of Indonesia's most prominent male singers today.

  • The Premier Ceremony will be hosted by actress Kasumi Mori and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra's Atsushi Yanaka.

    Over the course of the Premier Ceremony, the majority of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN's winners will be announced. Several hours later, the Grand Ceremony will be held at the nearby TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO.

    The Premier Ceremony will be livestreamed on YouTube alongside other services. 

    The first edition of MAJ was held in Kyoto at the historic ROHM Theater in 2025. The event is overseen by CEIPA (Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association), a first-of-its-kind organization uniting Japan's five major music industry organizations. The acts slated to appear this year aim to not only celebrate Japanese music, but also show how the country serves as a global music industry hub elevating Asia on the worldwide stage.
