Wow, I guess there's a reason this was the last original cast Galaxy Angel series. Oh, well. The roller coaster had to end some time.

I'm skeptical of this. The serious episodes tend to be nearly humor-free, or at least free of extreme silliness...how could you mistake one for the normal gag episodes? They tend to keep their tones straight, allthough I admit they didn't quite in the second season special (the one with Forte's old flame).
| Quote: | | In the dubbed episodes, potential for new humor is quashed by a re-write that sticks to the subtitles with the alacrity of an over-dependent child—except when (badly) covering for Japanese-dependent puns—leaving the English cast to sound understandably under-enthused as they give voice to the unwieldy dialogue. |
The writing on the Galaxy Angel dub has always been kind of off; I've noticed mistakes even in things like making sure the dialogue matches what's going on in the plot or correctly recognizing an English word that appeared in the original script. However, the performances make it one of my favorites. I'm going to miss it in the sub-only episodes.

They were originally going to release this as three seperate volumes, each one dubbed & subbed. But they apparently ran into some budget problems after the first disc was dubbed, and decided to release it as a box set with the last two disc without any dub. Why this was a problem for them I don't know, considering that Galaxy Angel A was done as a box set with all the episodes dubbed.

| Quote: | | Though a sub-only release according to the back-cover specs, the first four episodes actually were dubbed before Bandai apparently abandoned the process, cramming them and the remaining nine sub-only episodes into a single bargain-priced box. |
Don't worry, Madman gave up on GA long ago, only releasing the first & Z as singles, then giving A & AA single-DVD case thin packs. There's no love for GA in Australia. I wonder if they will even release X due to the fact that it is not fully subbed.
Anyway, I'm still going to buy this no matter how inconsistent it have become. As a GA fan & a obsessive completionist (?), it is my duty.
