Actually, I saw on Japanese TV that most of the stories are submitted by readers who are experts in their respective fields. This is why the stories tend to be so realistic and full of detail that the author clearly wouldn't have time to research on a weekly basis.

Interesting.
Possible ending scenarios:
- training an apprentice (kill me you become the new Golgo)
- real name, birth place, age, ethnicity finally revealed, whether or not he is a former agent of some government agency (and received his training there) or if he's self taught
Duke Togo only an alias, suspected of being half Japanese & half Brazilian
- one final assignment; taking out every world leader or every well known terrorist group (depending on the client who pays him)
