Samurai manga are normally a shonen genre. As far as I know only two shoujo manga are about samurai : Ryo by Ueda Rinko(about a girl who turns out to be really the warrior Ushiwakamaru) and Kaze Hikaru by Taeko Watanabe(a samurai version of Rose of Versailles)

Are there any others I missed?

I just giggle at remembering all the shoujo samurai manga out there that are shonen-ai. I can't think of any "norm" shoujo manga out their about Samurai, but I may post again eventually if one that's not a shonen-ai/yaoi comes to mind.

If you want though, I can try digging up the shonen-ai titles for you. It'll just take me a while to remember where I saw them and/or who did them.

No need. The "norm" will do just fine.

AMAKUSA 1637 by Michiyo Akaishi
Natsuki, her boyfriend, and a group of friends are thrown back in time to the Edo period, where they lose contact with each other. Natsuki wakes up to find herself mistaken for Amakusa Shiro, leader of the Amakusa Rebellion (this guy: http://www.keikyo.com/museums/museums/kumamoto/amakusa_shiro/ ).

I watched the movie about ninja girl Azumi, she worked as assasin. I've heard it was taken from a famous manga in Japan. But I'm not sure wheter it is shonen or shojo. Smile

Not bad...

Azumi is shonen/seinen.

I remembered another shojo manga with samurai in it.
Mizukagekusa(水影草) by Hiroko Miura
It's a short series (3 volumes), but I like the story and the art. Unfortunately, it seems to be out of print now.
The story (set in sengoku jidai) is about Ayame, a ninja who had to succeed her father as Hattori Hanzou, the leader of the Hattori ninja clan serving Tokugawa Ieyasu.
