The movie is still an all time classic, but I'll always like II V more. Fond memories of back in the day where Manga would mail you new VHSs as they came out.

A bit of a fun fact:

They brought back the main Japanese theme from II's movie for 6.

It was done before for Ultra Street Fighter II six years ago but in 6's case, they brought back the original singer and composer. Not sure if it's in the game itself though I imagine if it is, it's only in Japanese copies again.

Great write up! Another thing that came from SF2 The Animated Movie was Seth being based on the Monitor Cyborgs, particularly the Japanese only game based on the movie where you could control a cyborg. His name came from Seth Killian, a pro gamer that was hired by Capcom and worked for them for a time.

Love Street Stitcher II The Animated movie, Street Fighter II V and the first Street Fighter Alpha movie/OVA, in that order. Street Fighter II V has a special place in my heart because that's when Ryu became my favorite character in the series. When he faces off against Guile in that magical cave and realizes he doesn't want to fight him, that was when I understood the character. He doesn't fight for vengeance or revenge, just to be the best he can be. The games doubled down on this with anger and revenge leading to the Satsui No Hadou, which Ryu had to overcome to get back on his path.

Street Fighter 6 is amazing so far!

Street Fight II V ran out of gas as it ran out of money and resorted to a series of clip shows but even with that, it remains my favorite of the Street Fighter adaptations for doing what every other SF can't do:

Explaining the hadouken and all other ki based attacks.

It also was the best at explaining the difference between Ryu's methodology of hard work versus Ken's natural genius.
Ken's literally a ditto fighter of Ryu, that is neat.

Why didn't I buy this set when I saw it for sale?

while it's already well known that cammy is based in alita/gally i find it. afunndetail that her latest design change for sf6 makes her look even closer to her original inspiration.

alos a fun fact about her is that, according to some Capcom japan documents released when sfzero2 was, cammy and Sakura were planned to bw the same character originally, with Sakura getting brainwashed after forcefully joining th2e doll project.

Would like to chime in too with SF II V. I'd be interested to go back and see how well it holds up these days. One of the Showtime channels' anime blocks back in the day had this, and it was a VERY Toonami-esque showing. You HAD to tune in each week to see what was gonna happen next, and it really breathed life into the world of a game where story and expansive worldbuilding wasn't placed up at the front. This was Sonic SATAM for Street Fighter.
