Despite being a Korean animation, the 2D animation looks pretty good and this one does come close to looking like a Japanese animation (several Chinese animation I've seen do have animation that comes close to their Japanese counterpart), so I wouldn't be surprised if some younger anime fans could mistaken this animated movie as Japanese anime. I wonder who's going to pick up this film for international and US release, Netflix? Prime Video? HBO Max? Because I wouldn't mind watching this animated film if one of them get it.

I love seeing animation evolve and more artists/countries get in the mix lol. When I was younger I never would've thought Korea had comics LOL. But now there's manwha in my local library YA section. Kids are getting inspiration from stories all over the world. It's amazing!

If I had a nickel for every animated movie revival of a classic sports comic that shifts the focus to another character...I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's funny it happened twice.

In all seriousness, no familiarity with the original comic, but this looks cool.

Familiar with the original manhwa/animation, watched the new one and liked it too. Highly recommended especially for action and yuri fans, or just any anime fan up for a good time.

However, the article needs correction since the author of the original manhwa is described as "the late Jin-joo Lee" but he's very much alive? He's been doing multiple interviews since the movie's opening. Neither does the linked YNA article say the author's deceased.
