I think the review for Dorohedoro is for the most part on the money. I might have been slightly kinder with the grading, but I know that's because I like the series.
I mean I really like this bizarre and sometimes funny series. I like the original art, though some may not, and the black humor sometimes has me in stitches--sometimes. But there are some problems with it. I feel that somethings are not explained well (magic system feels this way), and I totally agree with the review it definitely feels that somethings are thrown in on the spur of the moment. Now, I don't need everything explained to me but how some things seemed to be thrown in made me feel that the mangaka isn't too sure about how some things work either or where she is going with the story. There's also the humor in the series which is fun in a dark twisted way, but occasionally feels forced and at times takes precedence over the story making the plot drag. Still, I recommend reading the whole series (unless you don't like gore) because its overall original and fun. My gosh its a story with no angst-ridden high school or middle school kids saving the world. That alone has got to count for something.

I made an account just to protest the low grading of Dorohedoro. There are reams of crappy manga out there, much of it gracing the Resent Reviews section on Anime News Network. Giving an extremely creative, twisted, intriguing manga like Dorohedoro a C- is a crime. "Laborious trek"??? Wow, maybe the reviewer should've stuck to Spice and Wolf.
