Have to agree... Also, I hate anime that try and appease all viewers by doing the multiple route crap. Stick with one guy and develop! I loved the Shin route, that was awesome. I was so drawn in by their love story I couldn't stop watching. And then I found out it was only one "route", and I lost all interest.
But I don't hate the heroine. Maybe I'm biased because I like how she looks, and I love Kaori Nazuka, but I can't come to hate her. And about Touma... At the Amnesia event at ACE 2013, Ukyo's voice actor asked, "How many of you girls want to be trapped in a cage by Touma?" and HALF OF THE 300 PEOPLE RAISED THEIR HANDS. A smaller portion said they wanted to do the trapping. Abusive relationships, anyone? |

I just finished Amnesia today and I still don't get why Kento got just one measly episode. Was it because he wasn't a tortured individual like the other four guys?
But Toma did it because he loved her so surely that means that it's alright

Maybe it's just me, but the "real emotion" that the ending tries to milk from its audience really didn't work for me. It seemed... tacked on to get a rise, and we're never given any reason to care about either character in question. One is a (hammy)tragic quasi-villain that's been turned bad out of love, whose sacrifice we have not been witness to (just his random moodswings, which really builds empathy doesn't it?), and the other a lifeless, thoughtless doll that has only figured out as much as she has because her exposition dump fairy has forced her to.
In the end, why should we care about these characters and their plight? We still don't know anything about them! All we learn about are their circumstances and connections to each other; the guys are all stock otome leads with the odd twist here and there, and our Mary Sue stand in makes Bella Swan look compelling! There's no personality or individual drive for them, just character traits to fit the premise and make the fangirls squeal. The Toma arc strangely worked for me just on the basis of how messed up it was; if framed differently, it could have been the right element of drama that could subvert the type of character and romance shoujo tends to romanticize, and show how creepy and abusive this type of guy would come off as in real life. Instead, it plays it straight, to the ire of the viewer. This is almost School Days level for me, concerning the insufferable level of "WHAT" that goes on. As to the previous poster that mentioned the fangirls and Toma, all I can do is shake my head and cry. |

I didn't care about Ukyo or Nameless Boring Girl. I felt sort of bad for Orion. For whatever reason he seemed to really enjoy hanging around N.B.G., and spoiler[so the idea that he wasn't going to be around to see her when she had an actual personality] seemed sad to me. To be honest, I wanted her to choose him, creepy shota implications aside. 
So for me, that was the emotion I was talking about in the review, but since they were clearly trying to make you feel for Ukyo and N.B.G., I decided to leave it at "real emotion" and let everyone decide for themselves what I was talking about. Probably shouldn't have screwed that up here like I just did then, huh? |

I actually thought that the inconclusive ending was the right call given the way they had played it up until then. If they were going to make the "who's your man?" call for the viewer, they needed to do it right up front; Ukyo is the only canon option that could have worked at that point, and I preferred the way they did it to that. (Although, kind of like you suggest, I really would have liked to see her choose to keep Orion rather than get her memories back and then like set off to build herself a new personality with her own two hands or something.)
I also was really irritated that Kento got such short shrift. Sure, it was like dating Lt. Data, but he at least focused on the heroine's problems and he did show positive growth through his one measly episode. He was too good for this show, I reckon. |

That totally went over my head  I thought you meant Ukyo, so your elaboration helps clear that up! I agree with you about who I have dubbed exposition fairy~ Thinking about it, he was the ONLY character I somewhat liked, in that he was the most invested in what was going on, and the most proactive. I actually saw the ending as a HAPPY ending in that spoiler[I was happy for Orion, since he finally got away from NBG, even if he hasn't realized just yet what a blessing that is!]. I'm sure that wasn't the writer's intention, but it works for me 
If this had been a true-blue dating sim show in that she actually picks someone (although I guess she kind of does), Orion would've been the least-creepy pick, aside from the terrible shota implications. That really says something about the other guys, doesn't it

Romance. Still waiting for an otome game adaptation that's actually good. Somebody in this genre really needs to Key it up. |

This was a pretty lousy show, Toma's episode was the best on humour value alone.

^I'm not sure, Ikki's route, with Boring Girl sinking like a rock had a really high hilarious value in my book.
I had thought to come and make a long rant on how much I disliked this show -especially after Toma's route- but I think I'm over my blind rage and I'm just taking it as a sadly hilarious failure in everything. Oh well, at least the guys were nice to look at. |

Lol I honestly don't blame ANN for giving this show the scores that they gave it, because the plot was so annoying and the main girl character was just emotionless as you can possibly be.
