I wouldn't assume it would get too serious, given the original format. It also seems odd that this is getting the go-ahead on the heels of Yuyushiki doing so badly, but if they're planning a short then manga sales would be the more important consideration.

@jet_: They didn't mention a timeframe for its airing - especially if it's a short, there's no reason it'd have to be under wraps for too long. But we'll probably never known when things were made, so all I can do is cock my head.

I don't see why a show being otaku-pandering won't allow for intimacy and passion.
Going by the series' synopsis, it seems to be pretty intimate to me.
