Surprisingly solid cast, considering I was among the only ten people who liked this show. I'm not gonna act for a second like it was a smart or artistically pleasant show, but I certainly enjoyed what I saw, so I'll probably buy it, especially since I didn't bother with the previous set (I never buy sub-only anime, at least not as physical releases).

I'm usually very iffy about Sentai dubs nowadays, but seeing as the ADR director is Emily, I feel like this one is going to be okay.

Nice to see Blake Shepard in another main role too! I feel like he can do some great performances when given the right character. Calvello I unfortunately haven't been impressed with lately- her Funimation roles are great (love her as Hange), but her Sentai roles (Hajime and that bunny girl from Problem Children) just didn't feel right for her.

Regarding the anime itself...I have a huge love-hate relationship with Dog & Scissors.

I cannot sympathize with most of the characters because I find them to be just horrible people, the abuse of the dog (I don't care if he's a human in a dog's body, he's still a dog!) can get really uncomfortable, and everything feels so contrived...

But dang does it go out of control in the most bizarre ways. It's like one of those series that is just fun and easy to make jokes of because of how stupid it can get. I admit, it did make me laugh at its bizarreness despite, in my opinion, its jarring flaws.

This is the first I've noticed Jessica Calvello back in the dub saddle. I hadn't seen her name on any credits since Excel Saga.

I'm guessing you weren't around back when they were announcing the cast for Attack on Titan. Jessica also turned up in some other Sentai dubs prior to this.

Obligatory Brittney Karbowski Full Employment Act of 2008 statement goes here.

Well, since it's been ages that I've ever watched a show starring a talking dog, I'll give this show a watch. Smile

I figured they'd dub this show since they could cast someone appropriate for Kirihime- it's the reason I preordered it.

It's not a good show, it's not a bad show, it's a weird show. What did I recall about it when deciding to buy it? Tuna chainsaw and singing maid.

Nothing about dogs or scissors.

I thought for sure that it would be Carli Mosier voicing Natsuno, but Jessica Calvello?! No. Just no.

Holy sh*t Jessica Calvello is in everything now.

Is she trying to make up for those years lost after Excel Saga ruined her voice?

It's like a Calvello Renaissance!

...without the religious pragmatism.

same with me though i rarely even watch sub versions either way. i am more of a dub pursuit otaku.

also i'm surprised jessica carvello is even on this cast. i though she was forced to retire after her vocal cords got nuked during the recording of excel saga.

which was why fans of steaphnie seph was worried she is overduing it with the roles and could end up the same way.

Sentai Filmworks and their Japanese business partners are who you should be complaining to.
