Sekai Project is 'Looking Into' Bringing Root Double Game to PS Vita

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

Video game localizer and publisher Sekai Project announced in an update on Tuesday on its Kickstarter campaign to localize and release Regista/Yeti and Takumi Nakazawa's Root Double: Before Crime * After Days: Xtend Edition visual novel that it is looking into the possibility of bringing the game to the PlayStation Vita, as well as more backer tiers and rewards. The updates also began streaming two trailers for the game, featuring the game's two story routes.

The Kickstarter launched on January 5, and aims to raise US$135,000 by February 5. As of press time, the project has raised US$64,409. Backer rewards include the game's original soundtrack, posters, tapestries, shikishi (autograph boards), blankets, and signed copies of the game. The project's stretch goals include a fan book and drama CDs.

Sekai Project is aiming for a tentative release date of March 2016.

Sekai Project describes the game as follows:

Rescue squad captain Watase Kasasagi wakes up without his memories in the middle of his most critical mission yet-- a nuclear meltdown at a research facility. In an unfamiliar place and without his years of training, he must rescue the survivors and escape... but could the key to the mystery behind the incident lie in the mind of Natsuhiko Tenkawa, a seemingly ordinary student?
