The seventh issue of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine revealed on Wednesday that the "big news" planned for Takashi Shiina's Zettai Karen Children manga is a celebration of the 30th anniversary of Shiina's manga industry debut. The celebration will include Zettai Karen Children-themed cafes, an art exhibit for Shiina's works, and a popularity poll for characters from Shiina's works.
Shiina's sci-fi comedy series began in Shonen Sunday in 2005, and received a 52-episode television anime series in 2008, as well as a 2010 original video anime adaptation. Sentai Filmworks released the series in North America in 2012 under the name Psychic Squad. The Unlimited - Hyōbu Kyōsuke, a spinoff anime focusing on the series antagonist Kyōsuke Hyōbu, aired in 2013. Crunchyroll streamed the series, and Sentai Filmworks released the series on home video in 2015.
Shogakukan published the manga's 52nd volume in August 2018, and will publish the 53rd volume on Friday.
