Trivia:

The concept of Cyborg 007 being changed from an adult to a nine-year old boy was done in order for the film to better appeal to the child audience. It was also under the logic that it be much easier for a movie goer to empathize with a child instead of an adult. Cyborg 009’s creator Ishinomori has despised this alteration that was made on 007.

Goof: 001 informs 009 that their island base is located at the coordinates of 50.5’ North, 35.20’ East. In reality those coordinates are the location of Bohodukhiv Raion, Ukraine and not an island in the middle of the ocean.

The concept of 009 being a teenage race car driver prior to receiving his cyborg implants is entirely exclusive for this movie.

Goof: Kenji Utsumi was mistakenly credited as being the voice of 005. Hiroshi Masuoka was the actual voice of 005 while Utsumi voiced 008.

The first Toei anime film to use the same "limited" animation that was used for TV anime (as opposed to the fluid animation used in their previous anime films).
