Comment:
A series of two animated short films for the 1981 (Daicon III) and 1983 (Daicon IV) Nihon SF Taikai (Japan Science Fiction Conventions) by Daicon Film, which would go on to become Gainax. Aside from featuring cameos by dozens of anime and science fiction characters, the Daicon IV opening sequence features the unauthorized use of the Playboy Bunny uniform and the Electric Light Orchestra song "Twilight".
Because 8mm film copies of Daicon III were sold at the convention, it can be argued that the short film predated Dallos by two years as the first OAV release.
