Gundam: Battle Destiny, Persona 4: Golden, MGS: HD Edition to ship in June

Sony's official Japanese website for the PlayStation Vita handheld system began streaming three 30-second "welcome" television commercials for June games on Monday. The featured titles are Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Battle Destiny, Persona 4: The Golden, and Metal Gear Solid HD Edition.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Battle Destiny will support network play and feature Mobile Suit Gundam Seed C.E.73: Stargazer, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Astray, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed X Astray, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Vs Astray, and Gundam Seed MSV. The game's mobile suits will include Destiny Gundam, Impulse Gundam, Freedom Gundam, Strike Freedom Gundam, Justice Gundam, Infinite Justice Gundam, Akatsuki, Providence Gundam, Gundam Astray Blue Frame Revise, Gundam Astray Red Frame Kai, and Destroy Gundam (as well as their respective pilots). Mobile Suit Gundam Seed: Battle Destiny will cost 5,980 yen (about US$73) and ship in Japan on June 7.

The Persona 4: The Golden role-playing game will be a port of the original Persona 4 video game that was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2008. The anime Studio Madhouse (Chihayafuru, Summer Wars) is creating the opening animation for the game, and Studio Hibari is also producing animated footage. The game will feature Marie, a new character voiced by Kana Hanazawa, as well as new animated footage, additional story events to interact with other characters in work and school, and new persona and costumes for battles. Atlus will release the game on June 14 for 7,329 yen (about US$91) in Japan.

Game director Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid HD Edition collection will include versions of the Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 PlayStation 2 stealth games. Metal Gear Solid HD Edition shipped for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in November, and the game will cost 4,980 yen (about US$61) when Konami releases it for the PlayStation Vita on June 28.
