Virtual Vocaloid idol song inspires green drink to be sold in convenience stores

The convenience store chain FamilyMart revealed on Monday that it took the "Po Pi Po" (Poppippō) tune sung by virtual Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku and turned it into a real-life vegetable juice drink. FamilyMart has not revealed when the green juice will go on sale or even its full name — FamilyMart teased the bottle design, but obscured most of the label.

Lamaze-P created the original song that became a hit online:

FamilyMart already teased and then revealed its "Mikuman" meat buns and "Peyoung Dabaa" yakisoba noodles earlier this month. Hatsune Miku "hijacked" four FamilyMart stores as part of her "Many 39s Giving Day" (Miku no Hi Dai-Kanshasai) concert event in March. FamilyMart also launched its crowdsourced Hatsune Miku promotional campaign in March.

Another Japanese musical phenomenon, AKB48, transformed into Balance Sentai Veggie Rangers to pitch Yasai Ichinichi Kore Ippon drinks.
