Live countdown via satellite to be streamed in 44 theaters in Japan

44 theaters across Japan are participating in a marathon of the three new Evangelion films, starting just before midnight on New Year's Eve and going into the new year. Yuko Miyamura, the Asuka character's voice actress who is often nicknamed "Miyamū," will host a live countdown via satellite feed as part of the "Miyamura Yuko no Bonnō 108 Tataki Kiri Joya no Anata Baka?" presentation.

The third film in Hideaki Anno and Khara's four-part remake, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo opened in Japan on November 17. It was the highest-grossing Japanese film of 2012 until it was overshadowed by One Piece Film Z.

Tickets for the event went on sale on Saturday for 3,500 yen (about US$42) through LAWSON tickets website.
