Konami Confirms Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection for PS3 in June

Collection to include MGS 1-4, Peace Walker, VR Missions, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2

Video game publisher Konami confirmed on Monday that it will release the Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection on the PlayStation 3 in North and South America this June. The collection is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear Solid franchise.

The collection will include the following games:

  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition (which includes the original MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2)
  • Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition
  • Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions
  • Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition

The collection will also include two digital graphic novels by Australian comic artist Ashley Wood. Konami Digital Entertainment preseident Tomoyuki Tsuboi noted that Konami is releasing the collection to allow fans "the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console."

Konami has not yet revealed a price for the collection. The Korean Game Rading Board had listed an entry for the collection last Wednesday.
