Mother/Earthbound Creator: Mother 4 is 'Impossible'

Shigesato Itoi had noted in 2006 he had no plans to create new game in series
When a fan on Twitter asked Shigesato Itoi — the director, designer, and original creator for the Mother game franchise — if he would consider making a Mother 4 game, Itoi responded on Monday simply with the word "impossible."
Itoi had stated in 2006 that he has no plans to create Mother 4.
The original Mother game was released for the Nintendo Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) in 1989, followed by its sequel, Earthbound (Mother 2: Gyiyg no Gyakushū) in 1994. Mother 3 was released for Gameboy Advance in Japan in 2006.
Itoi had talked about a "Mother re-release" effort last December, and Nintendo announced last month that Earthbound will be released in North America as a downloadable title on the Wii U this year.
