Sailor Moon's Crystal Star Inspires Real Cosmetic for Adults

The transformation item in the magical girl anime Sailor Moon R is inspiring a real Miracle Romance Shining Moon Powder cosmetic item for adults this October. Pre-orders have already begun on Tuesday at noon on Bandai's official shopping site, Premium Bandai.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Naoko Takeuchi's original manga and its anime, Bandai's cosmetic branch Creer Beaute is releasing the Shining Moon Powder as the first item in its Miracle Romance line of Sailor Moon cosmetics. The "presto powder" item draws inspiration from Sailor Moon R's Crystal Star Broach, complete with its mirror frame and Silver Crystal design.
The Miracle Romance Shining Moon Powder cosmetic will retail for 3,980 yen (about US$40).
For years, Bandai has sold toy compacts, inspired by the ones that the shōjo heroines in Sailor Moon, Precure, and other anime use to transform into magical girls. For example, Bandai sold a toy version of the Crystal Star in the 1990s.
Last August, the Premum Bandai website offered Smilepact Shiny Face Powder, a real Smile Precure! cosmetic makeup compact for adults. It also offers Creamy Mami's Magical Stick Lip Cream, Urusei Yatsura's "deliciously scented Lovely Darling Fruit Tubes" and other cosmetics, and an entire line of Rose of Versailles beauty products.
