posted on by Sarah Nelkin
First chapter of download-only PSP game to be released on July 18

The official website for the Super Robot Wars Operation Extend PlayStation Portable game began streaming the second promotional video on Tuesday. The video features gameplay with machines from titles such as Mobile Police Patlabor, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and Sgt. Frog.  The five-minute video also introduces the games's original characters Seishirō, Himari, and Exard.

For the first time in the simulation role-playing game franchise, the title will be offered in eight separate chapters, distributed one after another via download only. Mobile Police Patlabor, Patlabor: The Movie, Sgt. Frog, and Zoids will debut in the franchise in this game. The game will also feature more than 30 titles such as Mobile Suit Gundam, Gurren Lagann, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and Armored Trooper Votoms

The first chapter of the game will cost 500 yen (about US$5) for a limited time, and the remaining chapters will cost 1,000 yen (US$10) each. The full eight-chapter pack will cost 6,480 yen (US$68.80). Longtime producer Takanobu Terada is heading the project.

The first chapter of the game is scheduled to be released on July 18.
