Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Strife Snow Sculpture Takes on Sephiroth in Sapporo
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Every year, the Sapporo Snow Festival draws tourists with its amazing displays, including anime, manga, and video game inspired sculptures. This year, everyone is talking about Square Enix's Final Fantasy franchise, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Specifically, the company is working on the fan-favorite Final Fantasy VII remake. In Sapporo, the game's stoic protagonist Cloud is depicted swinging towards his arch-nemesis Sephiroth and Shinra Power Company's reactor in a centerpiece snow sculpture.
The sculpture is titled "Decisive Battle! Final Fantasy in Snow" and is the subject of a 3D projection-mapping display featuring scenes from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and the remake game.
