Vocaloids Rin & Len Get New CDs, Events for 10th Anniversary

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Hatsune Miku is just one of the many virtual idols introduced over the last 10 years and while she remains the face of Vocaloid software, her fellow singers have accumulated their own adoring fans. Take for example, the pair Rin and Len Kagamine released by Crypton Future Media, Inc. only months after Miku's debut in August 2007. So while the arguably more popular idol is celebrating her 10th anniversary with a handful of collaborations, events, and CDs, really its Rin and Len's 10th anniversary, too.

The virtual idols' official anniversary website recently opened and announced upcoming commemorative CD releases and events. The duo's 10th anniversary CD Lodestar will be released on December 27. It includes new songs by Vocaloid producers Junky, KulfiQ, [email protected], Takeaki Wada (kurage-P), Karasuyasabō, and Travolta as well as an unrevealed bonus track.

It also includes some of the most popular works featuring Rin and Len. Those tracks include: "Remote Controller" by Jesus, "Fire◎Flower" by halyosy, "Kokoro" by Travolta, "Q" by siinamota, "FPS" by Neru, "Tsumugi Uta" by DATEKEN, "Kyōretsu na Iro" by Live-P, "Neko ni Orange" by Lunachu, "Yumekui Shirokuro Baku" by Nem, "Akuta no Heya wa Sabiiro ni Shizumu" by Kon'nichiwa Tanida-san, "Fools Are Attracted to Anomaly" by Utsu-P, "Main Character" by *Luna, and "chocolate box" by dezzy.

A second commemorative anniversary CD titled EXIT TUNES PRESENTS Kagaminext feat. Kagamine Rin・Kamaine Len ―10th ANNIVERSARY BEST― will be released on December 20. The CD collects 23 of the most popular tracks featuring Rin and Len as well as five new tracks by iroha, Garusa, Jesus, DIOS/Signal-P, and Hitoshizuku x Yama△.

The Exit Tunes CD will also be released in a limited, 10th anniversary edition that bundles clear files, button pins, and art cards.

Additionally, an anniversary fair for Rin and Len will take place at the Animate ACOS store from December 21 to January 31. The duo will share the event with Megumine Luka for her ninth anniversary. The event has a German-style fantasy theme and Animate enlisted several artists to create new art for products especially for the fair.
