posted on by Kim Morrissy
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, NieR:Automata place 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Famitsu released the top three results of its "Top Video Game From the Heisei Era" poll on its website on Monday. 7,158 votes were submitted on Famitsu's website between April 3-8. The top-ranked game was Chrono Trigger (1995) developed by Square Enix (then Square), which received 230 votes.

The classic 1995 SNES fantasy game features character designs by Dragon Ball manga creator Akira Toriyama. Chrono Trigger launched for the Nintendo DS in 2008 and smart devices in 2011. It released on Steam in 2018.

The second and third results were Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017) and Square Enix's NieR:Automata (2017), which received 209 and 205 votes respectively.

The full results of the poll will be released in Weekly Famitsu magazine on May 16, which will be an extra-large Heisei retrospective feature.
