Critically Acclaimed 'Witch Hat Atelier' Anime Set for Double Premiere & Same-Day English Dub Release Starting April 6 Only on Crunchyroll

LOS ANGELES – MARCH 26, 2026Crunchyroll, the global anime brand, revealed today a same-day English dub release for the hotly anticipated high-fantasy series Witch Hat Atelier, based on the award-winning* manga series by Kamome Shirahama. Premiering only on Crunchyroll on April 6 at 7:00 a.m. PT, episodes one and two will simulcast day-and-date in English and Japanese. Additional day-and-date dub languages include Latin American Spanish, Castilian Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, and Arabic.

In a world where only born witches can cast spells, Witch Hat Atelier follows the adventures of a bright-eyed and magicless girl Coco. After a tragic accident while attempting forbidden magic, she is taken in by the magnificent witch Qifrey to learn the art and right her wrongs. In English, Anjali Kunapaneni (Rooster Fighter; Gnosia) voices Coco, and Joshua A. Waters (Lord of Mysteries; My Hero Academia: Vigilantes) voices Qifrey.

Kamome Shirahama's Witch Hat Atelier is an ongoing manga, which began serialization by Kodansha in 2016 and has sold over seven million copies worldwide, earning numerous international accolades including the Eisner Award and Harvey Award.

The Witch Hat Atelier anime adaptation is produced by BUG FILMS and is directed by Ayumu Watanabe (Summer Time Rendering; Komi Can't Communicate), while music is composed by Yuka Kitamura (Elden Ring; Bloodborne; Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice).

Additional credits include Shun Shinohara (Heavenly Delusion; Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead) who serves as Assistant Director; Hiroshi Seko (DAN DA DAN; JUJUTSU KAISEN) is in charge of writing the series composition; Kairi Unabara (SPY x FAMILY Season 3; The Heike Story) provides character design and also acts as Chief Animation Director; Ryōta Gotō (Suzume) serves as Art Director; Naomi Nakano (The Summer Hikaru Died; Solo Leveling) oversees color design; and Tadashi Kitaoka (Love Live! Superstar!!; Burst Angel) serves as Director of Photography.

The Witch Hat Atelier English dub is produced by Crunchyroll. Emily Fajardo serves as the ADR voice director, Zach Bolton as ADR Producer, Jeremy Woods as the ADR Sound Engineer, Nathanael Harrison as the Mix Engineer, and Ben Phillips is the English Script Writer for the anime adaptation.

In addition to the dub languages available, Witch Hat Atelier will also be available in Japanese with subtitles in English, Latin American Spanish, Castilian Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian and Arabic.

Series Synopsis:
In a world where only witches can cast magic, they must avoid being seen by ordinary people while casting. While Coco does her chores, she daydreams of becoming a witch. When a young witch named Qifrey visits her village, Coco uncovers the “absolute secret,” becomes Qifrey's apprentice, and begins her studies. This is the story of children who encounter despair, yet reach out toward hope.
