About SHINONOME ABYSS: The Maiden Exorcists Gameplay
A strategic roguelike horror game in which the player plays as Yono, a Miko (Maiden Exorcist) who is searching for her missing exorcist brother and must take on a mansion where many mononoke (ghosts) are lurking within.
This is a game where “Sound” plays a crucial rule in strategy. Players can identify the type of Mononoke by listening to the sound they make from the adjacent room, lure the Mononoke into traps with Yono's voice to defeat them, and more.
Sometimes, instead of defeating Mononoke, making good use of their unique characteristics can provide you with a big advantage. It is possible to utilize action game skills to overcome some of the challenges, but the key to success often lies in developing strategies through careful observation. Players can also progress through the game even if they are not familiar with action games.
Three Playable Modes, Featuring a Total of 53 Mansions
*【HARAE】A story mode where the protagonist Yono carries out requests from the Grandmaster while secretly searching for her missing brother and traveling across various regions.
*【MISOGI】A traditional Roguelike mode where your main objective is to escape from small-scale, randomly-generated dungeons.
*【GYOU】A hardcore survival Roguelike mode where you compete on online rankings to see how far you can survive in infinitely-generated high-difficulty towers or underground mansions, carefully managing items and supplies.
Pay Close Attention to Every Corner of the Rooms as They Contain The Clues to Victory
Mononoke can be defeated not only by Yono's own attacks but also by luring them into traps like the Hearth or Punji Pit. For example, the powerful lightning attack of Raijin Talisman can be transmitted through water to all mononoke in a flooded room when used. Understanding the room structures and Mononoke characteristics makes beating the dungeon much easier.
Mansions Prowled by Mononoke of All Shapes and Sizes
The Raging Gaki is a huge Mononoke with long limbs. Sometimes it's important to judge whether to avoid fighting it head-on and simply slip by without being noticed. There also seems to be Mononoke that tries to communicate with Yono without attacking her...
The Other Personality “Yono of the Four Eyes” Emerges When Yono is in a Pinch
Under certain conditions, Yono awakens the Evil Eye on her forehead and enters the "Yono of the Four Eyes" state.
In this form, her Kodachi power and other abilities are strengthened, making it easier to defeat mononoke.
