Ishikawa Pro's Mahou no Chocolate (Magical Chocolate) to air on BHK

As with North American television, Japanese TV is dominated by productions from large, well funded and established studios such as AIC, Gainax and Production I.G, however the independantly produced Mahou no Chocolate (Magical Chocolate), will air on NHK this Friday (March 22nd).

Produced by Ishikawa Pro, Mahou no Chocolate is an eight and a half minute story about a young school girl, Mami, who has a crush on a popular senior student (sempai) and wants to let him know this Valentines day. Her friend Koko tells her about the legend of the magical chocolates which will appear to girls who are troubled about love and grant them love.

Unlike major studios which can produce a full 22 minute TV episode in a week with 10 000 or more cels, it took Ishikawa Pro five months to produce Mahou no Chocolate with its 1,700 cels. A trailer, story outline (in Japanese), and character images can be see here: isweb15.infoseek.co.jp/play/sammena2/mahocho/mahocho.html.

Mahou no Chocolate can be purchaced and shipped worldwide from Anime Jungle (www.jungle-scs.jp).
