posted on by Christopher Macdonald
Production I.G has updated their website with details for the upcoming DVD releases of Innocence.

The Innocence Ghost in the Shell DVD Collector's box will be released early, on August 10th, followed by three more versions on September 15th.

Each version will come with two DVDs, the first disc will be the movie, and the second disc will contain various extras (directors commentary, trailers, 15-minute "making of"). On the first disc the audio will be limited to Dolby Digital, while the other versions will all have DTS-ES.

The standard release will cost 3990 yen (US$37 approx.)

In addition to the two DVDs, the "Limited Edition Volume 1" will include a Bassett Hound music box and will cost 6825 yen (US$63). The "Limited Edition Volume 2" will include three books: original storyboard, script and Japanese ADR script, and will also cost 6825 yen. Both limited editions will be limited to 15 000 units.

Those not willing to wait until September will be able to order the Innocence DVD Collector's box for a whopping 52,290 yen (US$480 approx.) and will include 5 DVDs. Disks 1 and 2 will be identical to the other releases, while discs 3, 4 and 5 will contain the complete "making of." In addition it will come with a 40 cm Gynoid figure, the official Innocence artbook and another 194 page color collection of layouts. This set will be limited to pre-orders only.

The only way to get all the extras would be to purchase both limited editiions and the collectors box.

Production I.G's website has pictures of the various extras.
