The Matsuyama station of the Japanese public broadcaster NHK reported [Editor: the link has since expired] that the manga artist charged with the distribution of obscene drawings was issued a summary order to pay a 300,000-yen (about US$2,600) fine on September 12. Although unnamed in the latest report, he was previously identified as 39-year-old Masaya Miyashita during his August 23 arrest. Miyashita lives in the city of Matsuyama in the southern Japanese prefecture of Ehime.

The illustrator was charged for distributing seven obscene works, including Pretty Girls, to Tokyo-area bookstores and other retailers. Matsuyama prosecutors said he printed 11,000 copies at a printing company in the nearby prefecture of Okayama, and then distributed the copies between 2005 and 2006.
