Kenichi Matsuyama honored for his contributions to Asian-Pacific film industry

The Asian Producers Network honored Death Note and Detroit Metal City lead actor Kenichi Matsuyama with the 2nd APN Award on Wednesday for his contributions to film industry in the Asian-Pacific region. Matsuyama said in his acceptance speech that he was surprised to receive such an award for doing what he enjoyed. He added that the award also belongs to his manager and everyone else on his staff.

Matsuyama was selected for his work on the Death Note, Death Note: The Last Name, and L change the WorLd films, which were inspired by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata 's Death Note suspense manga.
