Japanese Box Office, January 3-4

Major: Yūjō no Winning Shot, Takao Kato's anime film based on Takuya Mitsuda's baseball manga, rose again from #5 to #4 on Kogyo Tsushinsha's Japanese box office chart for January 3-4. According to Box Office Mojo, the movie added the equivalent of US$1,205,221 to its US$8,250,189 total in its fourth weekend. Eiga! Tamagotchi Uchū Ichi Happy na Monogatari!?, the second feature film inspired by Bandai's Tamagotchi! virtual pet franchise, fell from #8 to #9 in its third weekend. It earned US$618,929 for a gross-to-date of US$4,010,476.
Bleach: Fade to Black - Kimi no Na o Yobu, the third anime film inspired by Tite Kubo's manga, stayed at #10 in its fourth weekend. Andrew Stanton and Pixar's computer-animated Wall-E film solidified its hold on the top spot in its fifth week.
