TV version of Kaoru Kurimoto's novels with Uematsu's music to debut on April 5

The official website for the anime adaptation of Kaoru Kurimoto's Guin Saga fantasy epic novels has begun streaming a 164-second English-dubbed trailer on Friday. The heroic adventure series follows a leopard-masked, "Conan-esque" character named Guin on his quests in a fantasy land fraught with perils.

The novel series began in 1979, and Hayakawa Shobo has published over 26 million copies of the 123 volumes since then. The weekly television series will premiere on the Japanese public broadcaster NHK's BS2 satellite channel on April 5. Atsushi Wakabayashi (character designer of The Twelve Kingdoms, Yū Yū Hakusho) is directing the anime at the Satelight studios, while Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy games, Ah! My Goddess: The Movie, Blue Dragon) is composing the music.

Vertical has published the first five novel volumes and Kazuaki Yanagisawa's manga version of The Guin Saga in North America.
