Japanese Animation DVD Ranking, July 27-August 2

The DVD for Hayao Miyazaki's Ponyo film finally dropped to #2 after four straight weeks on top. K-ON! volume 1 sold only 7,949 DVDs at #7, but has become the #2 Blu-ray Disc release in Japan so far with about 33,000 copies. James Wong and 20th Century Fox's Dragonball: Evolution Special Edition DVD (pictured at right) rose from #10 to #8 on Oricon's weekly DVD chart in its second week. It sold 6,958 copies to add its total of 19,469. The 12th volume of the live-action special-effects series Ultra Seven sold 3,268 copies in its first week at #29.
